"Be blessed, and be a blessing!"
Sunday December 28, 2008 New pictures of Kip meeting Simon added to Kip's page! The pictures are in their own slideshow at the bottom of the page. If it says "Image Missing", it's really not missing, it's still loading. Give a few moments and the images will appear when they are finished loading. Almost sixty degrees here today!
Sunday, November 23, 2008 Well, it's been a long time... I won't use this site to fill in the gap since April, but I do want to share a very sweet story about a trip back from the outer Banks of North Carolina with my Mom that took place on Friday and Saturday. You can either click on the left navigation menu for "Meet Kip Manser" or you can click on this link Meet Kip Manser I hope that everyone has a safe and blessed holiday!

It's hard to believe that it's the end of April already. We had a wonderful shot of Spring the last few weeks, but it has turned cold again. Hopefully this is only a few day cold snap and things will begin warming up again soon. The trees have begun to bud, the crocuses has come and gone and lawns are needing to be mowed!
I found a few pictures of Jim on my computer. These pictures were taken in 2005 at the Relay for Life in Oneida. I added them to the slide show on his page. I'm sure they will make you smile as the pictures certainly captured his ever-present playful side.
For some reason, I can't get the web editor to format this text the way I want to, so we will have to suffer with the bold text until I can figure out how to correct it.
As always, check back soon for updates and new pictures. Happy Spring!
Monday, February 24, 2008 Wow, it's been quite some time since I have updated my site. Been busy, I guess. We have had such a mild winter ( I hope I didn't just jinx us) that we have become spoiled and tend to nay-say the storm warnings as they are issued. Like the one for tomorrow and Wednesday. I guess time will tell, but I for one am glad that I don't live in Oswego where they have been getting snow measured in the FEET this winter. I did take a few minutes to update my Links page, so please take a look. If you want me to add any links that you think would be of interest, just drop me an email. As always, thanks for stopping by and check back often for updates!
Thursday, December 27, 2007 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! I have posted a few pictures from Christmas at Mom's. It's hard to participate and take pictures at the same time, so there are not a lot of pictures, but I posted them as their own slideshow "Christmas 2007" on the pictures page. After the blasts of snow that we had a few weeks ago, it is now raining and most of the snow is melting. More global warming I guess. Thanks for stopping by and check back often!
Monday, November 12, 2007 THANK YOU to all of the Veterans, especially my Dad and brother Steve, that have sacrificed so that we may live freely in this great country! A few new fall pictures have been posted in the Upstate NY slide show of the "Pictures" tab. Our colors were not very vibrant this year and it seemed to be a late fall (okay by me). Most of the leaves are down now, with the last few falling today. We are still having periods of warm weather (high 40's to low 50's) so hopefully we'll have one last chance to clean up the yard before some serious snow starts falling. We did have a little bit of snow last week - you had to brush off the vehicles, but it didn't stay around for too long. Brother Dave flew in from San Diego on Friday so that he could drive with his friend Paul and Mom to the Outer Banks. They left on Saturday, after we all had a chance to get together at her house Friday evening to see Dave, celebrate Larry's birthday a day early and eat way too much! Simon and Sophie had a little tiff last Thursday and I woke up Saturday morning to his entire head and snout swollen. After seeing Mom, Paul and Dave off, Karla and I headed to the vet with Simon. Diagnosis = abcess. A quick surgery was performed and he now has what looks like a piece of macaroni sticking out of the top of his head. Poor guy. I think the worst part of it all for him is the Elizabethan collar that he has to wear. I'll try to get some more pictures posted this week, so check back.
Sunday, October 7, 2007 We are having an amazing fall season! The weather has been unbelievably warm, but we desperately need some significant rain. I haven't taken any fall pictures yet, mainly because the colors are not very vibrant yet. I have uploaded some pictures taken over the last few years and added to the existing slideshow on the Pictures page, as well as adding 3 new slideshows. I hope you enjoy them.
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Hello! It was a beautiful day here in Oneida. We set a high temperature record of 91 degrees, breaking the previous record of 88 degrees. The leaves are changing colors and beginning to drop, but it still feels like summer! There is a cold front coming thru tonight and tomorrow which will return our temperatures to the more seasonable range of low to mid 70's. I'm hoping to get an opportunity to take some fall color pictures this weekend. If I do, I'll post them on the pictures page.
Thursday, September 13, 2007 Hello everyone! I have to give kudos to Microsoft. I stumbled across their Office Live website the other day while I was searching microsoft.com for an Excel template and saw their ad for free business websites. I really had my doubts that everything would be free, but they registered my domain name for FREE, gave me FREE email accounts at my domain and they host this site for FREE. No kidding! They limit you to 500mb for the free sites, which doesn't sound like much, but I have 9 pages so far and have uploaded a lot of pictures and haven't even used 1mb yet. Their website said it was ad-sponsored, but other than their unobtrusive logo in the bottom right of every page, I haven't seen any ads. Once I figured out how to get to the site management page, (which was not easy for me to figure out), creating this site has been a breeze. There are a few glitches (ie: it won't hold formatting on certain pages), but overall, this is AWESOME! My intent is to use this site as a portal for family happenings and communication. I am debating as to how much personal information to put on the site, but I'll figure that out as I go along. I am starting out by creating pages in memory of my brother Jim, whom we lost to cancer in July of this year, and to my Dad, whom we lost in July of 2003. Two extraordinary men that have left huge voids in all of our lives. I've uploaded some miscellanous pictures that can be viewed as a slide show on the "Pictures" page. Most of the pictures are from trips to the Adirondacks, a few of the dogs, etc. Sit back, enjoy the show, and check back again soon for more pictures! |
